The world has lost a brilliant star, but heaven has gained an angel. It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Martha Jane Ozment, who departed this life on July 3, 2024. Martha Jane , born on June 21, 1936, in Newport News, Virginia, was a beacon of love, kindness, and strength. Her life epitomized the words of Mother Teresa, "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love."

Martha Jane was a proud and diligent nurse for many years, working tirelessly in the hospital setting. She dedicated her life to the service of others, and her compassion was a comfort to the countless patients she cared for. Her career was not merely a job, but a calling, a testament to her boundless capacity for empathy and care. In the words of Florence Nightingale, "Nursing is an art: and if it is to be made an art, it requires an exclusive devotion as hard a preparation as any painter's or sculptor's work."

In her later years, Martha Jane resided in the scenic town of Palmyra, Virginia, for over six decades, creating a lifetime of memories and touching the lives of many. Widowed, she was the beloved wife of the late Billy Ozment, and the cherished daughter of Ernest and Margaret Hibble, who preceded her in passing. Her spirit lives on in her sons, Steven Charles Ozment, David Wayne Ozment, James Allen Ozment, and Jesse Paul Ozment; and amazing grandchildren, who will forever remember her unwavering love and tenacity.

Martha Jane's life was a testament to the power of love, compassion, and kindness. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary woman, we invite you to share your memories of Martha Jane on her memorial page. Upload photos, write messages, and join us in celebrating a life lived fully, passionately, and with great love. As we remember Martha Jane, let us not forget the words of Helen Keller, "What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us."

To the Ozment family, we at D. D. Watson offer our most sincere sympathy and condolences. Our prayer continues to be that your abiding faith in God will lend to you a measure of comfort that will strengthen and sustain you during your time of sorrow.
