Lorenzo "Mickey" Callahan, of Fork Union, Virginia entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, September 3, 2018. Mickey was born March 21, 1944 in Charlottesville Virginia to Reuben and Rebecca Callahan. He served his country, faithfully, in the United States Air Force for over twenty five years. During his tour of duty he earned too many awards and commendations to be listed in this confined space and retired at the rank of Master Sergeant. In the early 1990's Mickey accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and served Him faithfully until relieved of duty & transferred to his new assignment in Heaven this past week.

Mickey was preceded in death by his mother and father, but is reunited with them now.
Left to mourn his passing while looking forward to that great & wonderful day that they will be reunited with him on Heaven's Golden Shore are his son Marcus, his wife Angie and their children Alayna, Analeise and Miles, his daughters Michelle Maier and Janean, his brothers Major, Andre, & Brad, his sister Sharon George and many loving family members. Mickey's extended family includes many brothers and sisters in Christ that have grown to love him as he journeyed through the Colonial, Calvary (Scottsville) and Albemarle Baptist Churches.

Mickey had a profound love for the children God brought into his life and always had time to high five, fist bump, joke and tease them. He was always concerned that they be taught the love of Jesus Christ and backed his concerns with action by being very involved in the Albemarle Baptist Church School. It is because of Mickey's love for children, that the family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Mickey Callahan Memorial Scholarship Fund through Albemarle Baptist Church. A Celebration of Mickey's homegoing will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Albemarle Baptist Church, 1685 Roslyn Ridge Road, Charlottesville Virginia. Burial with military honors will be in Holly Memorial Gardens 3251 Seminole Trail, Charlottesville, VA 22911. After the interment ceremonies everyone is welcome to gather back at the church for a time of visitation, lunch and the sharing of memories at 12:30.
