Curtis D. Holland
was born on October 21, 1942, to the late Howard G. Holland and Susan E. Holland.
He was raised in Cobham, Virginia. There he attended Albemarle County Public Schools.
Curtis joined the Navy in 1963. After basic training, he was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia where many of his military duties were performed. While there, he met and married the late Bernice Britt Holland. They became the proud parents of five sons- Tony, Anthony, Jerry, Curtis, Howard. He retired from the Navy in 1983 with an honorable discharge.
Curtis
was a strong, independent, intelligent man. He had many talents and skills. Cooking was one of his favorites. He consistently practiced fulfilling his purpose in life, which was to help others, especially those in need.
His memories will be celebrated by: sisters, Maxine Holland, Ernestine M. Holland-Murray; brother, George H. Holland (Regina); sons, Jerry Holland, Curtis Holland, Howard Holland, Anthony Britt, and Tony Britt; grandchildren, cousins, and dedicated friends: Ernest Bates, Celester Haynes, Benton Collins and Marie Collins Martinette.
To the Holland family, we at D. D. Watson offer our most sincere sympathy and condolences. Our prayer continues to be that your abiding faith in God will lend to you a measure of comfort that will strengthen and sustain you during your time of sorrow.
It is during such times as these that we draw upon our faith, stand upon our scriptures and rely upon our God. There is no question that in this and through this, God will keep you, comfort you and sustain you. You and your family are forever in our prayers.
