Albert Allen , 86, departed this life Friday, October 11, 2019 at Monmouth Medical Center ,Southern Campus in Lakewood, NJ.  Born in Buckingham County, Va., he resided in Plainfield for many years where he was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church. As a member he served as a deacon and former usher.

While in New Jersey, he was employed with Best Food in Bayonne, NJ for 16 years, retiring in 1989. After retirement, he relocated to Virginia where he lived until moving back to New Jersey in 2018. While in Virginia, he was a former member of Zion Grove Baptist Church and a current member of New Hope Baptist Church both in New Canton, Va.

He is predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Allen; a son, Stanley Allen and two grandsons, Michael Allen, Jr. and Angel Hedgeman.

He leaves to cherish his memory, four children, Michael L. Allen (Mitzie), Brenda Allen-Hedgeman (Mercer Hedgeman, III), Pamela Y. Griffin and Vincent P. Allen; 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and 1 great great grandchild; his siblings, Elsie Cobb, Ethel Johnson (Earl), Henry Allen (Wakii), Rose Allen, Charles Allen (Pat), Jean Garrett, Ella Banks and Earl Marshall Allen. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
